friends chaning

I have a question for the world. Why do you stay the same, but your friends change in ways that are not good.  About 6 years ago I met my friend who is young than I am and also she is from Viennese. When I first met her she was a smart child who I enjoyed being around with her head on her shoulders. Now she just boy crazy, loves her friends over her family, and rebellious. Well I hadn’t talk to her in a while, but we got back in touch this past weekend for her birthday party celebration. Coming to her gathering was so weird because she didn’t even really talk to me. She brought her sister along with her even thought she didn’t want to, but I am glad because that was the only person I talked to. She has gained very wild friends who loves attention and to drink and they have just graduated high school, so they are under age.  They just were people I wouldn’t use to see her hanging out with. I really can’t say why she changed; maybe going to Memphis city schools did it. I heard stories about her that I could not believe at all. Her family was talking to her about how they don’t like how she is and she got mad and had a attitude at me when I didn’t say anything to her.  To myself I was just thinking wow this is not the person I use to love what happened, but oh well nothing I can do now. I do not know really what to say, but I hope she change soon because the way she is going she going to end up in trouble in some way.

  1. Well, I have heard similar stories like this. I think that many things jhave changed for your friend that got her acting the way she acts now that differ from her past. She probably didnt get enough attention and didnt have a high self esteem. So, when a guy finally notices her or when people liked her and saw her as the beautiful girl she thought she was ,but wasnt sure about made her want to hang more around those people. And she probably didnt want to start drinking, but she wanted to keep those friends who were drinking and doing outrageous things to keep her self esteem high and feel that she's worth something. There are many things that come from not having a high self esteem at a young age or not being confident in yourself. Especially being here in Memphis, she stood out in a city school, so she probably felt either do the things to fit in or stand out and become picked on or harassed. She is going to have to come to the realization herself that she wants to change or hit rock bottom and it forces her to change. Well, I will pray for her. You're being a good friend.

  2. I just don't understand it. I mean there are people out there in the world who make an effort to help people. At the same time, those people who are being helped act childish (you know, yelling and so on). There's only so much a person can do help. After that, he or she are on there own to find their way.

  3. Sometimes it is best to be silent and patient. Your old friend may come back around to being herself, or you just may have to let the new person inside of her go.

  4. It is very sad to watch people you love turn into something you don't feel that you can love. But, people go through things and the way she is acting doesn't necessarily define her. Try not to be judgmental. It's hurtful to you, I can see that, but I'll say the standard and ask: have you told her how you feel? Or have you just stayed silent and rejected her for the things you've seen her do that you don't like? I'm sure she needs to heat what you have to say. And she is only nineteen, bet she'll change. Many times. It is good though that you haven't fallen prey to those changes that she has. Just keep getting to know yourself and set your own example.

  5. We all have friends that change and I don't believe it was what school system she was in that changed her, but the friends that she met at the school. And some people have to go through some things to see clearly. All you can do is pray they get it together quickly.
